1. Essential Session Cookie

OVOTUSSESSID keeps you signed in, associates requests with the correct session and protects forms. It contains a random identifier, never your password.

2. Language and Preferences

The ovotus_language cookie may remember your language. Other interface preferences may be stored locally to avoid repeating choices.

3. Library, Reading and Listening Progress

Local storage, session storage and IndexedDB may preserve navigation, the current page, the listening position, reading and listening progress not yet synchronized and pending operations. They enable content to resume and progress to synchronize when a connection is available.

4. Offline Reading, Listening and Cache

IndexedDB and the App cache may store authorized protected texts and audio files, their covers and resources needed for offline reading and listening. Received audio parts may be retained when saving is interrupted so it can resume.

Offline copies are subject to an expiry date linked to access rights and may be removed automatically. Saving a text and saving its audio edition are separate actions to perform on each device used.

5. Payments and Third Parties

Payment providers may use their own cookies for security, fraud prevention and confirmation. Their policies apply when their interface opens.

6. Advertising and Analytics

Ovotus currently uses no advertising cookie for behavioural targeting. This page and available choices will be updated if a non-essential tool is added.

7. Management

You can erase cookies and site data from browser or App settings. This signs you out and removes texts and audio files saved offline on that device, along with local progress not yet synchronized.

Blocking essential cookies may prevent sign-in, secure forms, access to reading and listening and certain payment operations.
